Why Mercer & Lindqvist
Small on purpose, and the same people every year
Naomi Lindqvist and Daniel Mercer opened this office in 2011 after years at larger firms, where clients were billed by the hour for questions that took five minutes. Here, a return has a flat price quoted before we start, and the person who prepares your work is the person who answers the phone.
We’re a CPA, an enrolled agent, a bookkeeping lead and a preparer. We meet in person, by phone or by video, and your papers travel through an encrypted portal, never by email.
- Flat fees, never based on your refund
- In person, by phone or by video
- A secure client portal for your papers

What clients say
- ★★★★★
“I had put my taxes off for two years out of pure dread. Daniel went through everything in one meeting, told me what it would cost, and the bill matched. I’m caught up now and I sleep better.”

“Priya cleaned up a year of messy books and now my numbers are ready by the 10th every month. For the first time I know what I can actually spend.”
Andre W.Landscaping company ownerReview on Google - ★★★★★
“Naomi walked us through an S corporation election and the payroll that goes with it, including the cases where it wouldn’t be worth it. We appreciated the honesty.”

Before your first call
Are you taking new clients?
Yes. Year-end check-ups are open through December 18. For 2026 returns filed in 2027, we take new individual clients until March 26 and new business returns until February 26. After those dates we can still file an extension for you. Current clients hear from us in early January.
How do I get started?
Book a free 20-minute first call, or ask for a call on our Contact page. We’ll learn what you need and quote a flat price in writing. If you hire us, you sign a short engagement letter, send your papers through our client portal, and we send a draft for your review before anything is filed.
What should I bring to my appointment?
Last year’s return if we didn’t prepare it, your W-2s, 1099s and 1098s, business income and expense records, a photo ID, any letters from the IRS or your state, and the bank details for a direct-deposit refund. Bring paper copies or put them in the portal. Don’t email them.
How do I send you my documents safely?
Use our encrypted client portal, or drop paper off at the office. Ordinary email and the forms on this website aren’t a secure way to send Social Security numbers, bank details or tax papers, so please don’t use them for that. We’ll set up your portal login during your first meeting.
